About Chris

Chris holds a Master of Arts in European History and a Master’s in History Teaching Education from the University of Maryland. He worked for many years as a public school teacher in North Carolina and Maryland. He served as a Lead Classroom Teacher for AP U.S. Government, AP U.S. History, and World History, among other humanities courses—designing lessons, grading, and communicating with families. He was rated a “Distinguished” teacher and honored as a National Society of High School Scholars Distinguished Educator.

Chris has worked as a private tutor since 2008 and provides expert, personalized tutoring that helps students excel in humanities courses, writing, executive functioning, and standardized test preparation. Many of his students have attended top DC and NYC-area prep schools such as Sidwell Friends, St. Anselm’s, and St. Alban’s. Students who have worked with Chris during college counseling and application sessions have gone on to attend universities including Cornell, Rutgers, the University of Maryland, and the University of Texas.
